リサーチ・プロジェクトにおいては、次の５つのゼミトピック①近代建築史学・歴史学・建築運動、②近代建築・政治・建築論、③鉄・鉄筋コンクリート・木造・構造技術、④近代建築保存・修復・ドコモモフィッシュ、⑤職能・教育・環境に関する渡邉による講義とともに二人一組のグループでそれぞれのトピック関連課題を行います。このゼミナールを通して、近代建築史に関連する基礎的な知識を習得し、発表と質疑を行うことでプレゼンテーションの技術を身につけます。同時にチュートリアルを行い、個人テーマについてその概要を決めていきます。

研究方法論と近代建築史・建築論について基本的知識を得ながら、研究に関する文献調査を中心に既存の史料を整理し、ビブリオグラフィーとしてまとめていきます。修士研究においては、適宜、建築学会やドコモモの研究集会に参加し、発表を行います。

コンポジット・マインド・リサーチ・プロジェクトは、渡邉によるこれまでの近代建築・技術・教育史研究で注目してきた「コンポジット・マインド」の概念をベースに、歴史研究と保存再生設計を融合した研究として、認知脳科学における認知建築学の可能性を模索します。

In the research project, Watanabe will give lectures on the following five seminar topics: 1) Modern architectural historiography, history, and architectural movements; 2) Modern architecture, politics, and architectural theory; 3) Steel, reinforced concrete, wood, and structural technology; 4) Modern architectural conservation, restoration, and docomofish; and 5) Professions, education, and the environment. In addition to lectures, students will work in groups of two on assignments related to each topic. Through this seminar, students will acquire basic knowledge related to the history of modern architecture and acquire presentation skills through presentations and question-and-answer sessions. At the same time, tutorials will be conducted to determine the outline of individual topics.

While acquiring basic knowledge of research methodology and modern architectural history and theory, students will organize existing historical materials, focusing on literature research related to their research, and compile them into a bibliography. In their master's research, students will participate in and present at research meetings of the Architectural Institute of Japan and DOCOMOMO, as appropriate.

The Composite Mind Research Project will explore the possibilities of cognitive architecture in cognitive brain science as a research combining historical research and conservation and rehabilitation design, based on the concept of "composite mind," which has been the focus of Watanabe's previous research on the history of modern architecture, technology, and education.
